The Railway Story Read Along
All Aboard the Story Express!
Celebrate World Book Day with us with a magical journey into stories, railways, and imagination! Join us for a special series of interactive read‑aloud sessions with children’s author Elaina Moon, who will be sharing enchanting tales from Amelia and her Time Travelling Trainers: Take a Trip... series.
Families are invited to step into the world of early railways and the invention of the passenger railway as our guest author brings history to life through fun, engaging storytelling perfect for young readers.
Every child receives a FREE book and railway-themed dress‑up is encouraged!
Sessions:
10:30am - Amelia meets Robert Stephenson
11:30am - Amelia meets George and Robert Stephenson
1:30pm - Amelia meets Robert Stephenson
2:30pm - Amelia meets George and Robert Stephenson
The sessions are small (15 children max) for an up‑close, interactive experience. Early booking is advised to guarantee your place aboard this storytelling adventure.
Bring your brightest costume, your biggest imagination, and get ready for a World Book Day experience filled with creativity, characters, and railway magic!
It's also Heritage Weekend Family Fun Saturday so before or after the book reading, make sure to ring Locomotion No.1's bell in the 1861 Shed, see the locomotive Tornado that starred in Paddington 2 and climb aboard the class 37 diesel locomotive for a great photo!
