Hidden throughout Hopetown Darlington are 11 special QR codes, stationed like secret signals along the line, including one at the legendary Skerne Bridge, the world’s oldest working railway bridge!

Each time you scan a QR code, you’ll be greeted by a remarkable character from Darlington’s pioneering railway past. These railway heroes are full of stories, tips, and fascinating facts. So keep your eyes peeled and your curiosity on track as you hunt them all down.

Once you’ve scanned a QR code, simply tap your screen to bring the character to life in the real world! They’ll appear right beside you, ready to share tales about the very spot you're standing on. Don’t forget to snap a photo with your favourite historic station-mate!
